🎥 About Me

I’m Athénaïs Host, a French filmmaker and storyteller based between Strasbourg, France, and Bristol, England. I moved to the UK in 2019, where I studied Film and Television at Boomsatsuma College, developing my creative voice as a director and visual storyteller before continuing my studies in France.

My approach to cinema is rooted in authenticity, exploration, and social meaning. I’m drawn to stories that engage with the world around us; films that question perspectives, highlight overlooked voices, and create space for reflection and dialogue. For me, cinema is not only a creative practice, but a powerful tool for connection and change.

📹 My Work

This website presents a curated selection of my projects, ranging from short documentaries and narrative films to experimental works and personal projects. Each film marks a step in my creative journey and reflects my ongoing exploration of identity, belief, and the human experience.

🎬 Cannes Festival

In May 2025, I had the incredible opportunity to attend the Cannes Film Festival as an accredited young critic with the Ecumenical Jury. Over 10 days, I immersed myself in the festival, watching 32 films and engaging with a diverse range of international cinema.
